With breathtaking views, gorgeous blue ocean and gently crashing waves, Corona Del Mar(CDM) state beach is quintessentially Southern California. Known by the locals as Big Corona, CDM is a hidden gem. The half-mile long soft white sandy beach is framed by cliffs and a rock jetty that forms the east entrance to Newport Harbor. The sandy beach and coves look like they came right out of a movie set. You may have seen the stunning beach in Disney movies and television shows such as Gilligan’s Island. On the hills above the beach stand multi-million dollar mansions, windy roads and a lookout point to enjoy spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and bay. The sunsets are simply incredible, so bring your camera, a picnic and enjoy!
Only a 20 minute drive from Vacation Homes Orange County, CDM is a great family beach and a popular place for swimmers, surfers, divers, volleyball players and sunbathers. Bonfire pits are just the added icing on the cake, so come early, stay late and enjoy a smoar’s watching the blue skies turn orange as the sun sets over the beautiful Pacific. Who knows, you might get lucky and spot a seal or a dolphin not too far from the shore. Remember to bring the beach chairs, umbrella, towels, sand toys and coolers provided at each of our vacation homes.
