Disney's animated film Frozen has become the fifth highest-grossing film in box office history, taking in $1.2 billion worldwide. This news comes just two months after it was confirmed Frozen had become the highest-grossing animation in history crossing the $1 billion mark for worldwide box office in March 2014. It's no secret that Disney's “Frozen” has become somewhat of a phenomenon since its release. “Frozen” merchandise flies out of Disney stores as quickly as it arrives. Good luck finding an Elsa dress or an Olaf snowman. A face-to-face meeting with Princesses Anna and Elsa can have you waiting in line from three to five hours at the parks. The Frozen Facebook page has nearly 14M Facebook likes, Vacation Homes Orange County being one of them.
An obvious progression, Disney on Ice is launching a live touring show in September 2014 in Orlando, Florida. The production will also include sing-along performances of the Oscar-winning song "Let It Go” and "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" After opening in Orlando, the "Frozen" tour will travel to cities including Tampa, Fla.; Atlanta; Baltimore; Newark, N.J.; and Minneapolis. There are plans to have several performances in New York at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn in November. No dates for Southern California stops have been announced so far, but we have our fingers crossed at Vacation Homes Orange County.
Frozen won two Oscars in March - best animated feature and best original song for “Let It Go,” sung by Idina Menzel.
